These past few weeks have been full of ups and downs…mountaintops and valleys. We have laughed, cried, rejoiced and prayed! I am so excited to tell you about all that has been going on in our neighborhood these past few weeks.
Victory Sports Camp
Our children at Countryside have been so amazingly blessed this summer by some wonderful church groups, and friends that have sponsored them to attend camps and VBS weeks and everything in between. They have had the Gospel spoken into their lives on a weekly sometimes even daily basis. It is a beautiful picture of what God has called his CHURCH to do J. This past week was no exception to that. We transported 21 children (in borrowed church vans) to sports camp every day and they stayed ALL day with lunch provided as well. What a blessing to working parents trying to keep their kids safe this summer!! What a blessing for some of our neighbors that may not be able to give their children lunch each day! What a blessing to this missionary family when it is just TOO HOT to get outside and play with everyone each day of the week!
The kids learned the Gospel through some simple colors each day. At the end of camp, 5 of the children we took asked Jesus into their hearts for the 1st time! One of the youth who stayed each night and helped with camp, rededicated his own life as well. We even had one of the youth from our youth group at church get saved too. What a day of rejoicing we had!!The camp was run by many of the youth ministers and local youth groups and it was a JOY to watch these young people learn and be able to lead others to Christ and serve so wholeheartedly!
Friday Night Lights
We were thrilled to host Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church for a time of food, fun, and fellowship at our house last Friday night. This was the 1st cookout we have had at our home and we had a great turnout. We LOVE the idea of just fellowshipping and getting to know our neighbors so that we may have the chance to point them to JESUS !!
Probably the hardest part of living life on mission is knowing that when God says move, WE MOVE! Such is the case for Grant and Amber Hinson (our partners and mentors here for the past year). God has told them to move. So, they have listened to his voice, just as they did three years ago when he told them to move to Lancaster. I am happy for them. But, I am sad for us as well. We will miss them. We will miss their leadership. We will miss our friends…..BUT we knew that God was preparing us for this. We are ready to step up and continue to serve in Lancaster! We love our Countryside family and I am so beyond excited to see what is in store for us now.
Would you pray for us in the next few weeks as we work out all the roles of leadership and serving at the Connection? Pray for our children as they navigate this change as well. Pray for wisdom and strength and peace as we continue to follow God’s plan for our lives!
EXCITING THINGS COMING UP!!
