We are so thankful for the support of the Connection ministry at Countryside ! So many have asked what our needs are. I wanted to share here about some of the current needs and what God has been up to in and through this ministry.
Our team has come up with our focus verse for this year. Our motto this year is IMMEASURABLY MORE.
We are asking and believing that God will do immeasurably more with this ministry than we could even imagine right now. This is based on Ephesians 3:20-21 which has been our life verse at our church and we wanted to extend it to our community as well.
Ephesians 3:20 says :“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Our 1st need is for some prayer warriors to believe this with us and pray this vision over the ministry of The Connection this year!!
Next , we have 2 young men that are ready to begin training as missionaries and live full time in the Countryside neighborhood. We have specifically prayed for one particular trailer that is close in proximity to the playground and God has opened that mobile home up. HOW BIG IS OUR GOD!! This trailer even has an extra room to house some mission team members as well! It is literally next door to some of our closest teenage neighbors as well.
Here is what we need for that to happen. Jason and I feel strongly that we want them to raise $6000 BEFORE they move in. This will be the entire cost of rent for one year. We are asking for monthly partners or one time donations to help them raise this amount.
We still believe strongly in the incarnate ministry model. Although we would love to move back in to community, we feel that God is leading us to raise up leaders and BLESS them with an opportunity that is similar to the opportunity we had. One that will change the course of their lives forever. We believe that this experience will fan a flame for the Gospel that is already burning in their lives. We have the idea that this will be a one year commitment and potentially open to other young adults searching for their calling after that. But only God knows what this on the job training facility could look like a year from now!
Thirdly, we need one mission team to come on a Saturday and help us clear out and organize the storage building as we prepare for summer ministry. We have acquired a ton of supplies over the years! We need to pull them out, sort them, and organize them so that we can be better stewards of our resources ! This will be a BIG job ! Our building is full!
Lastly we have a great need for some general operating supplies.Here is a list of items that we need for summer !
Snacks ( the favorite is individual bags of chips or cookies). I would love to offer some fresh fruit every once in a while so if this is something anyone would like to drop by we could use this during the week.
Juice boxes ! (We serve these every single day that we are at The Connection. )
Bubbles
A couple of nice jump ropes
Hula hoops
Balls!! ⚽️ 🏀 🏈 We play hard and always could use more footballs, basketballs, and soccer balls.
A new pump for the balls!! (Did I mention we play hard? )
Sidewalk chalk
A couple of speaking engagements for the college students that we are training up !
